The Lagos State government will today (Monday) Arraign Suspected Kidnap Kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans before the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere on fresh charges.
One of the charges filed before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo has seven counts of Conspiracy and the Attempted Kidnap of the Chairman of “The Young Shall Grow Motors”, Vincent Amaechi Obianodo.
Count two deals specifically with the murder of the policemen attached to Obianodo.
According to the second charge made of four counts, Evans is alleged to have conspired with some others to kidnap one Sylvanus Hafia.
It will be recalled that Evans and five others last week Thursday, pleaded not guilty to two count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping of one Dunu Donatus.
Others arraigned with Evans before Justice Hakeem Oshodi are: Uche Amadi, Okechukwu Nwachukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi, Victor Aduba and one female, Ogechi Uchechukwu.
The Lagos State government had in the charge claimed that the defendants committed the alleged offence between February 14 and April 12, 2017.
The state also alleged that the incident took place at about 7:45pm, along Obokun Street, Ilupeju, Lagos.
It further alleged that on April 12, Evans alongside the other five defendants while armed with guns and other weapons captured, detained and collected a ransom of 223,000 Euros from one Duru Donatus for his release.
The prosecutor further maintained that the offences committed are punishable under Section 155 subsection 1 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2017.
Justice Oshodi has adjourned that matter till November 3.
