Sulaiman Abu emerges new Chief Imam of Lagos
Three months after the demise of the ninth Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Garuba Akinola Ibrahim, Alhaji Sulaimon Oluwatoyin Abu has emerged the new Chief Imam of Lagos State.

Abu, a civil servant and graduate of Electrical Engineering, University of Ilorin and was turbaned on Friday afternoon at the mosque, shortly before the Juma’at prayer.
He emerged as the 10th Chief Iman of Lagos after a rigorous selection process and replaced Alhaji Garuba Akinola Ibrahim, who died on September 24.
Abu who is also a graduate of Daru-Dawa wal Irshad, Arabic and Islamic College, Isolo, Lagos, was turbaned by the Ulamas in the mosque’s led by Sheikh Tijani Gbajabiamila. He is a decendant of the Nolla family, one of the four families in which the position rotates.
