Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad III, has lamented that the traditional institutions especially in Northern Nigeria are the worst casualty of the activities of the Islamic militants, especially the Boko Haram insurgents.
Speaking as a resource person at the Department of State Services (DSS) Institute for Security Studies (ISS), in Abuja, on the topic ‘The Role of Traditional Institution in National Security Management: Lessons from the Boko Haram’, the Sultan equally said that Boko Haram was a product of failed education, failed economy and waning moral values.
